Since late 2022, we have been tracking the development of generative AI tools, like ChatGPT, Bard, and DALL-E, and the way they are being used in higher education nationally. Generative AI tools can produce new and unique outputs, including human-like text.

Welcome back to the Spring semester 2024. The omnibus new academic structure proposal was released to Academic Affairs at the end of the fall semester.

The Academic Planning, Assessment, and Resource Committee (APARC) began looking at Department Chair funding formulas in AY21-22. As part of the APARC recommendation, four models were offered for consideration.

As we embark on departmental and school reorganization in Fall 2023, we have developed a process for departmental reorganization.

I write to provide our third update of the semester on the progress of the Academic Master Plan.
