Dear Faculty and Academic Affairs Staff,
It is hard to believe another week has gone by.
My message this week is very simple: thank you.
Thank you for continuing to care for yourselves and your loved ones by abiding by the shelter-in-place orders and following all CDC hygiene guidelines.
Thank you for everything you have done to move heaven and earth to get classes up and running.
Thank you for helping SSU adapt in what are, by any measure, truly unprecedented times.
Many of our faculty and staff are working, teaching, writing, and Zooming with children in the house. Many have new jobs as Home-Schooler-in-Chief. And many are living with the knowledge that we and the people we love are COVID-19 vulnerable.
I want to acknowledge that we all are carrying the burden of this pandemic in one way or another.
I am deeply grateful to all of you for doing all you can to continue to educate our deserving students even as we navigate this difficult and frightening situation.
