Program Review
Regular program review supports academic excellence and integrity, and is required by SSU, the CSU, and our accrediting body, WASC Senior College and University Commission. The Office of Academic Programs provides departments and programs with support in the program review process, typically a seven-year cycle of review for all degree programs – undergraduate and graduate.
Departments and programs should consult with Academic Programs and with their school dean prior to beginning their self-study. Academic Program's has an assessment coordinator who can support any department in their self-study process. Programs that have disciplinary or professional accreditation can use their externally defined process to meet their internal obligations.
Assessment
All programs, including General Education, are responsible for maintaining their program learning outcomes (PLOs) and reviewing these outcomes on a periodic basis. Student achievement in these PLOs should be assessed on a regular cycle as part of the program's assessment plan.
